    Hi there,

I am heading to Corsica with the family in two weeks time. Has anybody been there and if so what's it like ?

    Thanks

I was there a long while back now - 1997. It's a beautiful island and the people are quite friendly too. They are (or where) quite nationalist and a lot of them regard themselves as Corsican first and French second. Don't get tied to the beaches and coast - the interior is espically beautiful and well worth spending a lot of time there. Lots of quaint small towns, pine forests, medievel humbacked bridges (great for picnics) and impressive mountains. Mountains are tall enough for a ski resort in the winter.
