    Hi folks

It has been suggested that this program is quite good for converting files to .AVI. I have downloaded the software, however when it opens up winzip there are 100's of files (lots of .exe's). It also says I need to download AVISynth and when I do this again there are 100's of files in Winzip (see attached)

What is my next step to get this installed (when I double click on any of the .exe files it just gives me an error and tells me to install it in the correct way??)

    Cheers

are you sure you don't mean autogk it's pretty good at converting to avi

I've never used it (I use AutoGK), but to install it I'd say just extract everything in the RAR. (Use the Extract To... function to preserve the directories)

There should be an AutoMKV.exe for you to run then.

You might need to download and install AviSynth separately. (avisynth.org)

I think the AutoGK installer includes everything. AutoMKV is probably a bit more advanced.

    Cheers guys

Yeah I had been using AutoGK when on XP but I loaded it up on Vista and it doesnt seem quite the same. I used to get just one .avi file as a result but now am getting an agk folder with 8-10 small files inside, none of which is the correct sized .avi. I have checked and all the settings are exactly the same as on the old pc.

I asked about this earlier and I think it was 8T8 mentioned that AutoMKV was much better. Problem is I'm not that technical and all these files that it has created in Winzip are pretty confusing.

Maybe I'll try to reinstall AutoGK again - It really shouldnt produce anything different..

AutoMKV needs a few things to be installed before it will work.

In the thread look under "Big Fat Warning" & you will see links to the various bits some of which you probably already have installed.

The most important one is avisynth once that is installed just download AutoMKV and extract the zip to a folder and run the automkv.exe

To use the Nero AAC encoder extract the contents of it's zip (see under big fat warning) to the \AutoMKV\exe\BeSweet\ folder.

A manual is also located here.
