    A simple question...

What hands do you agree to push with when short stacked as the BB is getting closer to you. Lets say that the BB + SB is half your stack and its a freezout tournament

You should be pushing long before you've only 3 BB. You should be in push mode at 10x BB.

Your range should narrow as the BB gets closer to you, not widen as you now have more players beind you so marginal pushes with 5 behind become losers 6.

ffs the lad is asking an honest question and not one piece of advice.

If you do end up below 10bb id normally be pushing with any Ace, suited or non suited connectors above 6 would be my pref also ANY pp.

If i have between 10-20 bb id tighten up my range slightly. Also depends how many stations are at your table.

Just my preference may not be text book stuff but just my tupence :)

Well its very difficult to give a range of hands when we have no idea of the context of the hand.

There has been plenty of advice, most players are saying to avoid that spot.
And I already answered the OPs specific question. As did PL I think.
    ATC - Any two cards
At that point, 3BBs and the BB approaching, the cards are irrelevant. Completely.
I think your rang is WAY too big. You have an M of 2. You do not want to get to UTG or the BB as this removes all your chances of getting through.

If you only have 3 BB's it's quite literally any 2 cards you are dealt where the hand has been folded to you, you can not let the blinds go through you again. Unfortunately this is the answer to this question. However the bigger issue you should be trying to research is how to avoid this situation, as getting down to 3 BB's should not arise unless you just lost a huge pot and you had the other guy covered by 3 BB's.

I ended up pushing in the APAT tournie last week with 89s and ran in to AA and KK. I was delighted not to have the KK as he was a bigger underdog than me, esp after the A75 flop. I still missed though. I think your question might have gotten a better response if you changed it to 8BB's. I think then it would all depend on position as much as cards. In this situation if it is folded to you on the cutoff/button, then go in with any two cards pretty much, but tighten the range slightly earlier, although, pushing UTG is a popular thing though, but is liable to get called relatively lightly at times.
