Boss TU-2 or pick-up

    I'm trying to tune my electro-acoustic guitar with a boss TU-2 ... now, I've done it before so I know there shouldn't be any problems, but it keeps registering a G# unless I play something really loud.
    Now, just wondering before I go ripping my guitar apart, what does the TU-2 tend to do when it's low on battery? I don't have a spare 9v lying around to check.
    I'm really hoping it's not the electrics in my acoustic as I don't know what to do about it... yet I've a horrible feeling it might be.
    Guess I can do some swapping and changing and trial and error... just wondering if anyone has come across this G# problem before?

    nope =/ change the battery and give it a try, maybe the jacks just loose on the guitar or the lead, but change the battery try a diff guitar with the same lead and give it a shot n what not (that rhymes)

    make sure u tried everything before u go checkin the guitars electronics

    its no biggie, it can be easily fixed, unless u gota get a new tu tuner but they cant break :) ...but if it was the tuner... may god have mercy on us all :o

    Nah, pretty sure the tuner is invincible. Checked the manual and there's meant to be a light if it's low on battery... so I guess it's something else.

    Ick. Time to go through everything. I bet it's something stupid and loose :(

    Gsharp is the pitch of the noise you get when you don't have something connected properly..

    I would agree, it's most likely interference noise caused by dodgy cables or connections.
    Highly unlikely it'd be the TU2.

    I was crazy worried it was the guitar... but no... thankfully it's the stupid cable! Nice. :)

    I had ruled out the cable since I use it playing bass all the time and it never feeds back... turns out when I'm not playing I rest my fingers on the strings, yesterday I was at practice and noticed this horrible buzz when I wasn't near the strings. Bingo. I'm extremely relieved, though it would have been nice to notice it before I put in an order to Thomann, now I'll have to go pay Dublin music shop rates. Eep.

    Are you sure its the cable, sounds like a bad ground in the guitar to me (I might be wrong on this, someone feel free to correct me if so). Might be worthwhile to bring it into the shop with you to test it with a new cable.
