I had this idea about lost. since a lot of people seem to be unhappy or at least unsatisfied with lost no matter what the writers do - I came up with a brainteaser.

Step 1. Pick your absolute favourite character. (the only one you've liked pretty much consistently since the start)

Step 2. Think about the finale and what role they played in it. (if you picked a character who didn't have any real role in the finale, you're done here. otherwise, see Step 3)

Step 3. Imagine if by some freak-of-nature inspired-by-jacob turn of events, You inhabited your character - and in a not unlike desmond capacity were able to make One change, whether subtle or dramatic. what would you change?

note: it doesn't have to be a change made during the final two hours, or even during the character's time on the island. for instance, you could say "I'd be Locke and shoot Jack. and then shoot him again. and then just empty whatever's left in the gun into him. just to be sure" or you could say "I'd be Hurley and go back to finding the VW, except I wouldn't get it working" cause maybe you don't Like Sayid, Jin or Bernard. you could even go further and change something that happened to a character in a flashback.

the point is, whatever you decide to do, try to work out how it would logically affect the outcome of the finale - and see, with the information present, if you can get an outcome that would've suited you.

I think ppl get too hung up on things about the show.

I love it. Sure there are times when I go FFS thats another filler/pointless ep but I keep coming back for more.

I just enjoy it no matter what.

but I totally agree. the idea was to get people to really think about the intricacy of the show - instead of just seeing it as entertainment that doesn't always deliver what you expect from it. I have no problem with the show whatsoever. it's more of a challenge to the people who think they actually write entire episodes of filler.

for example, at the time - everyone thought the hugo-fixing-the-van episode was filler. but here, half a season later, it paid off as part of the overall plot.

I'm with you though, I enjoy it no matter what.

I'd be Locke and would shoot the phone out of Jack's hand.

I reckon that would have made for the better ending as the next season would begin with Locke the number 1 enemy of the camp, but especially for Jack.
