    Hi Guys,

I have justed moved into a new flat, and the previous owner must have installed a dish on the roof. I plugged in my sky box and got no signal received,
but when i went to the Signal Test option in display, i found that it was showing up
    Network Id : 013e
    Transport Stream: 1450

Even though it was locked on this and had good quality, i couldnt find any channels using the sky pace box.

Just wondering whats on this dish, and if i can get on the roof should i be able to move the dish to point to sky?

Yeah i have a sat finder alright, think i will do that, hopefully it will work. Im actually working in londno at the moment, and have taken my sky card from ireland over with me, so far its been great, but had to move flat so was happy out to find the cable for the satellite.

just need to get on the roof and i be sorted!

Yup, realign. Standing facing the back of the dish, it'll need to be turned a bit to your left, and elevation lowered a bit. You'll pass a few other satellites as you move dish around towards 28E, eg Astra 1 on 19E.

    you are looking for
    network id 0002
    transport stream 07d4
Reckon your dish is currently on Hotbird
Even without sat finder Sky shouldnt be too hard to find. All you need is a long extension lead, a short sat cable, scart, digibox and portable tele.
Just balance tele on chimney and watch for the strength /quality bars to pop up and maximise as you move dish. Do slowly as there is a slight lag.
Before you begin check your life insurance pays out on falls from a height. ;)

just in case anyone is in fact idiot enough to balance a tv on a chimney, please ensure chimney is moved to ground level first ;) , otherwise the other instructions still stand

    look here:
    http://www.lyngsat.com/hotbird.html

most of the free channels (F) should be receivable on a sky box by manually entering in OTHER CHANNELS

the ones for example with SR=27500 and FEC 3/4

you will have something to watch until you can get the dish aligned for sky!

Most newer Sky boxes (or older boxes with "updated" software) will NOT work with satellites other than 28 East

THe channels will appear when you do a search but when you actually try and watch youll get a "No signal is being recieved" or similar message
