    hey everyone,
ran my first race back in april with the bupa ten k. ran it in an hour. happy enough with that cause i was real unfit before i started running. but now i wanna keep going and improve. so im wondering whats a realistic target to set myself to finish this race? is it a tough course? i am gettin back into trainin now after a bit off. currently run about three miles three or four times a week. any help would be appreciated. cheers.

Your equivalent 5 miles time (for the 10k) according to McMillan Running calculator, is around 48 minutes. So, if you've been running/training a lot more, why don't you set a better time, say 45 minutes?

yeah that sounds feasible. its tough to know sometimes how much to challenge yourself. i want to make it tough. but possible at same time. any idea what would be a really good time for it? just curious!! oh and does anyone know is the course similiar to the bupa one? the hills were a pain!

It is a different course but has that bit of a drag at the 3 mile mark. See attached. Well at least it doesn't go through the furry glen as that was tough in the last 2Km in the Bupa run.
