If you look in the Grinds thread at the top of this forum you'll see various people offering grinds, I'm sure there are one or two people offering Spanish too.

Why has the student moved schools just before the JC?

Why did you move to a school with no Spanish department? That was a very wise decision

Why did you feel the need to post this here when you had a thread in the Spanish forum may I ask?

Thanks for all your useful comments firstly we moved school because we moved house because the job moved us. Secondly there seem to be no school in our area that offers spanish. Did you think we just threw a dart and see which school it landed on? and thirdly my son will be sitting JC in 2008 not 2007. and finally i posted this thread here so to maximise my request for a qualifed expierenced spanish teacher.:D

Ah right sorry I didnt read the original post properly :)

You could post on the Spanish forum and the Teaching/Lecturing forum too, they might be able to help you.

It's really hard to find someone who can give Spanish grinds (or at least I couldn't) but the Spanish Junior Cert paper really isn't hard if you're any good at English because only a tiny section of the marks actually go for writing in Spanish.

I got 65% in Higher Level in my mock and I didn't even attempt the written Spanish section (writing a letter). The majority of the marks go for reading a news article or biography of a person and then answering questions about it in English. I couldn't believe how easy it was to guess most of the answers.

Thanks Jb91 for your insight into exam sounds quite easy . spoke to my son but he is a nervous wreck because he is studying french aswell he has already started to panic (God help him when the leaving cert comes around) he has already organised Maths and french grinds (wants to do higher level) with a teacher in his new school . Un fortunatly she doesnt know anyone that can do spanish.
He says would not have confidence to sit exam with out proper preparation. Claims he needs someone to go through verbs etc?
May start Knocking on school doors when we get settled.
