Im running Media Center 2005 and have ripped my own DVD's to my Hard Drives, I have got the .dvdid file so the correct Info shows up in MC.

What i would like to do is use my own DVD covers, the ones MC uses from the internet are not great quality, I have tried using my own and naming the file "folder.jpg" but have had no joy............

    Any advice?

The folder.jpg should work, it's been so long since I messed with this I've forgotten some of the links to all the applications.

Depending on how you are doing he DVD catalogue, through My Movies or though extended MCE services* you can manually add the cover in.

    * Your using the built in MCE DVD changer UI.

There is an app here called DVD cover grabber which might do the trick.

Yeah gave that grabber a go its doing the same thing, still using the pictuer from the internet, which is really low quality, why on earth do they think people would want it looking like that?

Im just using MC to manage the DVD catalodue and adding the folder.jpg myself, which works fine if i dont let MC connect to the Internet but then of course i dont get the Film Info, which is not the end of the world but there has to be a way around it.

Should I be organising my DVD collection a different way to how i am doing it? How much better is My Movies?

Cheers for the help 8T8 you seem to be answering all my questions of late!

Try DVD XML it hosts XML files for movies and will auto download the cover art though the folder.jpg is supposed to override that.

Also here is Extended metaservice for Media Center, I recall this allowing you to force your own cover art though I could be mistaken.
