    The Wayfarers ( http://www.wayfarersassociation.com/ ) are a good club.

Other main clubs would be the Ramblers, An Oige and Glenwalk.

I completed a hill walking course with Walkabout Wicklow, which was fantastic, and joined the social hill walking group after the course. We walk monthly.

    there are loads of groups.

depends on with whom you want to go out with.

An Oige (youth) attracts oddly enough older members.
    I found Glenwalkers good.

there is a Irish speaking walking group and even a lesbian and gay group.

An Oige is a good club and they organise great trips but you are right, it is not that young. Then again, I'm not sure if there are many young people interested in hill walking anymore. Which is the best club for meeting younger age groups?

Anybody knows about a group for meeting young (as in people in their 30s ;)) people? I am looking to join a hiking group with a friend and it does look that age range is from 40s to more.

    Thanks!

I'd also recommend the The Wayfarers
    (http://www.wayfarersassociation.com/ )
They have a very active calander and a pretty good range of walks each week. Their car pooling policy is very good too so you're not totally dependant the car.
