Bringing a digital camera to Spain & Portugal

I want to bring a compact digital camera to Spain and Portugal later in the year; what I want to know is should I try to get hold of a little printer to bring with me, as I will be there a few weeks, or will it be easy to get my prints processed, e.g. do they have those machines over there like in the hall of Tesco here, or can you get them processed like in a photoshop or chemist's here?
    Thanks for the help...

Just buy a bigger memory card. It's bound to be cheaper than a printer, or getting prints done over there.

I'd second the above... memory is dirt cheap and will serve you better in the long run. You may even be able to get a better rate on prints when you get back other than printing in dribs & drabs when you're over there...

Also, if you do print over there and format the card, what if you want re-prints?

Buy a blank CD, most internet cafés and photo processing places will transfer data from memory card to CD for very little money.

Reckon you'll even be able to do without buying a CD, most Camera shops will write the data to a disk.
But, if you've got a "big" camera, or are pretty snap happy, you'll have a load of CDs pretty quickly and so new memory cards may be the way forward...

    Buy one of these http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=325454
More robust then a CD/DVD with a lower failure rate then any CD/DVD (scratches etc will kill a CD/DVD) and not to expensive, plus loads of storage and its small :)

Personally I always use to use a 20GB Archos Gmini 400 which has a handy screen for reviewing images and has a inbuilt compact flash reader, extremely useful when going on trips, now I've gotten myself a Macbook so its a pretty good upgrade for when I go on holidays etc :)

I hope to be staying with a friend who doesn't have a tv (a true friend :) ) or a computer and I would like to leave some prints with her. My camera is the Nikon Coolpix 5600, very small.
If I can get prints made, I will. If not, I suppose the post is not that slow...
Many thanks for all the help here - I thought of the memory card and of the photo shops, but not of the CD - I really appreciate the input, all.
