Is it possible to take my ntl connection and connect it to my laptop using s-video? Does a cable to s-video converter even exist? everything i look for is sending the s-video to the tv

Unless the spec of your laptop mentioned Vivo ( voltage in voltage out )on the graphics chip then no , the TV ( s- video ) connector on your laptop is one way only.

You can however get USB TV devices that would do the job.

Not cheap though and you'd have to hunt for one that was compatible with whatever flavour of NTL you have.
