Cutting in a middle man...

    Hi all,

I have a couple of ideas for products, I have produced one and stocked up (it's a training CD Rom) but I'm having difficulty shifting the stock because I don't have time to do serious marketing and the second project has mock ups done and website set up and the rest, but I just don't have the time to devote to them.

I have a full time family business to look after but I feel the need to vent some creative options too but I just don't have the time to devote to them.

My question is: Are there any middle men type people out there that buy ideas or who act as go betweens with a commission for work or similar?

I don't have a lot of money to spend on marketing or hiring a sales staff just yet so I was hoping that I might find someone like this instead.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks
    Stephen

As you probably know by running your other business, you only get something out of a business by putting a decent effort in.

I would avoid trying to get someone in on a commission only basis. In my experience, it never really works for either party unless it compliments and existing customer base that the sales person is already servicing.

If they are products that could achieve decent sales online, then maybe this would be the best route for you to drive sales through as you could process orders in your own spare time.

The key of course is to get to a point where the sites will be found by prospective customers and then be good enough to convert the visits to sales.

I would recommend you examine what might be involved in getting someone in to do the development of the site for you so you can sell online, and also have them work on the marketing of the site (SEO, PayPerClick advertising etc).

The main point I think is that you need to be careful not to try and spread yourself too thin on all your projects and letting everything suffer.
