    Hi everyone,
I know completely nothing about bikes. I was wondering if anyone of you could help me in buying one of those mini dirt bikes. I live in Co. Meath so if anyone know any shop with those could you please post here. I saw on some videos that there are smaller and little bit bigger mini bikes, is there a difference in something else than the size? I'm have 175cm of height (about 5'7") and don't have much cash...a maximum of 500 euros is what i have...

Oh and my another question is, do you need any license to drive those bikes, insurance, tax etc? I just want to ride around my house, nowhere on the roads or anything. Just in my estate.

(Sorry for my English, but I'm not Irish/English)

If driven on private land you don't need licence, tax or insurance. If you plan driving it, even around your housing estate, then you need all the above and that includes a helmet.

I'm not sure what part of Meath you are in But Ashbourne market every Sunday it is actually the fairy house racecourse if you're asking anybody for directions..
Anyway there's a guy up there who sells all different sizes of the bike your looking for.
but personally I think you're wasting your money these things are basically junk in my opinion extremely difficult to get parts for.

I think the best thing for you to do would be to buy and convert an old 125 road bike for using in the fields Like maybe an xl 125 if it's just something you're looking to have a little fun on.. of course this is just what I would do.

You'd be better off getting a bike designed for the job, but they ain't that cheap . It won't be long before you'd get bored from the lack of power from something like an XL.

Thanks for all the answers... I'll think about it again, before buying a bike.
