I think theres one, just one person that you can have a connection that strong with. They don't have to be your partner,but just someone that you feel knows you inside out,better than you know yourself. The person that you always call when things go wrong and that you know will always be there for you no matter what.

No I don't believe in soul mates. I believe it's soppy sh*t that is made up by overly-sentimental people.

Plato wrote in his Symposium that humans have been looking for their soul mate ever since Zeus cut them in half. In his mythic story, Plato describes a world where there were men, women and people who were both men and women. Apparently, humans began discussing how they could climb up to heaven and replace the gods. The gods were upset by this and discussed what should be done. I would have similar beliefs except that I believe that you have more than one - my husband is one of them for me, another is my father and I feel blessed to have both of them in my life.

As for me, I'm undecided on the whole soul mate issue, however I do believe in synchronicity and a notion of destiny. I think the experiences we have in life are necessary to teach us the lessons we need to ultimately understand, and it seems to have happened to me many times so far.

I didn't really at the start of the thread but now i've been thinking about it..
I've 'heard' that everyone has a hunger for love, its like a hole in the soul and until that space is filled it remains a void. Some people fill it with drugs or alcohol, some eat and eat until they feel full and some people meet someone who completes them, and maybe thats what a soulmate is. Someone who fills the hole in your soul.

welll....theoretically its not that they dont have a soulmate but maybe (like me) their soulmate isn't alive anymore, or maybe they just havent gotten to know them yet. or maybe they're too preoccupied with drugs, (which can fill the void really well) that they're quite happy with the alternative. Multitudes of reasons.o
