In the first shot (you have them titled incorrectly here - they should be the other way around) there is an obtrusive electricty pylon in the background which I would have cloned out.

In the second one of O'Brien's Bridge there is some peculiar white object (an old boat?) in the foreground which is distracting. Maybe if you had gone closer to it and made it the primary object of foreground attention it would have worked. I also have a problem with the electricty (or maybe it's a telephone) wire and poles. Rather than suggesting you should have cloned them out too I think you should have gone closer and concentrated on some detail of the bridge itself rather than trying to capture the entire structure.

I hope this helps. There is some very good stuff in your flickr account.

To agree with Carrigman I would have given the boat in the foreground the bottom half/two-thirds of the frame and the bridge the rest, cutting out most of the sky.

Love the reflections in both of them

thanks for the feedback guys.. Have them titled correctly now.
I was limited in what I could do with the boat as there was only a couple of places to stand without wading into the water.. I couldnt decide how to best use it as part of the photo. Just a pity the reeds are so high as it would have complemented the bridge nicely..

Good landscapes tend to be evocative of something more than standing there looking at the scenery. Perhaps you could clone in some feeling.

Very "constructive" comment prox, thank you for contributing to the thread. If you didnt feel like give me some constructive criticism then perhaps you should just not bother.
Beginners such as myself like to hear from some of the great photographers that frequent this forum who really know what they are talking about.
