    Does anyone know why batteries in the car and controller go so fast???
    And does anyone know why a car would cut out if its tuned,trimmed and set properly???

    a) Probably Low mAh
    b) Air leak in the engine?

    Well first you find out if it is an air leak. It might not be. Could even be an almost dead glow plug. If it is an air leak where is it? Then you have to ask someone with more knowlege as I have never had to deal with leaks and don't know much

    Flunked got the main reason ...

    There is a 2nd factor - inefficient linkages.
    eg a tight throttle linkage (where the servo attempts to go past 100% throttle or below 0% throttle) would consume a lot more battery power than a perfectly set up throttle.
    Also the brakes demand power, to clamp down hard, so the battery in the car will go down faster than the battery in the transmitter.
    And does anyone know why a car would cut out if its tuned,trimmed and set properly???
    Usually because you only think it is tuned,trimmed and set properly.
    But it actually isn't.
    There is no such thing as "one best settings and tuning " to leave it set on all the time.

    Did you ever notice how drivers have different tyres for different conditions ? ... Well your engine is the same.

    You see, settings actually vary with each day's different temperatures, humidity, the freshness of your fuel, % nitro in it, % oil in it, the duration of high throttle usage vs slower usage, the newness and tightness of the engine, the degree of clapped-out-ness of an engine, the quality of your engine, the air-pressure tightness of the fuel tank and delivery tubing, if the car has recently been laid up in storage, lifespan remaining in your glowplug .... I could go on !

    All these and other factors contribute getting the best setting at the time. Tomorrow is another day.
    So the best settings today are really a guideline for retuning tomorrow. They will probably be OK tomorrow too. But it might be a bit better if you correctly "tweaked the settings" tomorrow. See what I mean?

    It takes time to learn these things, and nobody gets to a stage where they know it all, they just improve as practise is gained, provided they pay attention to details.

    well ill be coolwings the trottle does exceed the carb length but ive been tinkerin with it for ages so could any tips???thanks:)

    Consider which connecting hole on the servo arm would produce the exact amount of movement the throttle arm requires .... use a ruler held over the arm and work the servo back and forth with the radio, observing the amount of linear movement of the pushrod thus caused. Then do the same with the throttle arm, from zero to full throttle, measuring the amount of desired push-pull for perfect throttling.
    If necessary you can drill an extra 1.5mm hole in the servo arm, half way between the already pre-drilled holes.
    A computer radio does this by programming, and eliminates much of the need for these mechanical adjustments.
