Do we get the actual exam paper that we've written on back? or is it just results we get?

Yeah, no paper. Don't even get to know your percentage either.

No percentage? Curses..... How do we know that they haven't messed something up then?
(Bad experiences with teachers doing sums. Enough said. Damn, that charter! That story is so much more interesting when you can say what the teacher teaches.)

Well if you've been consistently getting As all year, then get a D in september and think it's totally off, you can ask them to recheck it. Preeetty sure you can't view the papers though.

You won't get a JC paper back.

Remember, the JC papers are DESIGNED to maximise the marks a student gets - they want as many people as possible to do well. Unfortunately this leads to a very large number of people getting A and B grades at Higher Level in some subjects when there is actually a huge difference in the level of abilty required to get say, 86% or 99%. This leads to the 'I got ten As in my Junior' problem at Leaving Cert.

The Leaving Cert. is a very different exam, designed to 'discriminate', i.e. sort people out according to their ability in answering the paper. It does not do anyone any favours.

How to pass Junior Cert. exams
    1. Believe you can.
    2. Attempt the correct number (and choice) of questions.
    3. Answer the question you are asked.
