Well first of all it says that the seller only ships to the US so you better contact him/her.

I know that but others did the same (did a quick search of the boards to be sure) and they email the shipping costs to me. It won't be until monday though, I just got the automated reply. I'll have to finish payment then, but the question still stands: postal insurance under shipping and handling or Seller charges?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,401 ✭✭✭Shiva

Theres a button there to send an automatic note to the seller asking for a total invoice, to include shipping. You have the option of adding a note for him - just mention in there that you want to include shipping insurance. Which, to be honest, you shouldnt need. Ehobby will send you a total invoice within the next 8 or 12 hours, to include the insurance if you want it.

Edit...I just reread your post - you already have your invoice. You can email them and ask for an updated invoice to include insurance, or just pay the invoice as is. I've made a number of purchases from ehobby and never bothered with insurance - you should be ok.

Damn, I sent the notice mentioning the orange tip about 5 minutes ago. I can't send a message via ebay because I have 0 feedback.

Email jpc825@yahoo.com quoting your invoice number or item number from the invoice and ask him any questions you might have. That's the eHobby email address.

I must be psychic, I've just done it.
I won't be getting an email about this until monday at least so there is no rush.

    Thanks

You might be surprised - they don't seem to respect the weekend over there :)

The shipping price to the US is the same as to here except for AEGs. When you are paying just put in $31 in the postal charges box.

don't say it Crazy Rabbit :p

    Sorry guys, a disclaimer
My previous post (about the psychic part) is completely untrue. I do not, nor have I ever had psychic abilities :D . Sorry about the confusion :p.

By the way, are there any trinners in the airsoft boards. I'm a trinner, not an Arts student, and part of the scientificy crowd, although our course is now under health sciences. Anyone else from the Hamilton side of life?

liamo333- What part of Stillorgan are you from? I'm near Stillorgan Grove.

That seems to be not so much of a problem, but I live at home in Clare off term, so over the next 4 months I'm nowhere near a skirmish site :(
The good thing is I'll be working in Limerick over the summer, so I should have enough experience with "them things" etc when I come back to Dublin :D:p

Well, if Scope can make it over from Galway, I'm sure you'd have no problems coming from Clare :p

On another note, don't use the word weapon. I'm trying my best to get everyone to stop using it!

Oh yea, edited. Sorry. I read over the charter to make sure I won't make more mistakes.

I was referring to "real steel" though, not airsoft.

The "weapon" thing isn't actually in the charter at the moment. I'm going to have to try and do something about that at some point.

Nice Sig by the way. Another to add to my to buy list.

I know that the word is not really acceptable so I really shouldn't have used it. I'm a complete noob, sorry.

I'm kinda proud of the Sig aswell, I hope it gets here without too much bother (It's going to my house in Clare, so I cant get at it for a couple of weeks  )
Can't wait to get it though. Now all I have to do is sort some Green gas/Propane.

Just in case you're wondering, I don't want to stalk you ;)
Just looking at my options for getting involved in airsoft skirmishes next year so it's good to know of someone close by :)

Ah don't worry about it. I just have to be vigilant in my crusade... ;)

I'm also waiting on a pistol. I decided there's no way I can afford a WE 1911 any time soon so went with a cheap but effective bell m92...I just hope the thing doesn't blow itself apart!

Don't mention gas to me. I only have a tiny bit of green left..and it's ICS ****e. Propane adapter will have to be purchased soon I think.

I just got the invoice now. That was really quick, especially as it's outside their opening hours on a saturday. Irish retailers across the land, this is efficiency :D

Try and get some ASAP. I had my 226 for two weeks before I got some gas. Believe me, there is nothing worse than getting a quality GBB and then having to wait for gas.:D

Also try to get some silicone oil at some stage to keep her nice and smooth.

BFSL sell them but they are a wholsaler. Will they sell to an individual?
I'll be getting the propane adaptor if I like the whole GBB thing.
    Thanks for the advice :)

Get a propane adaptor from highspeedairsoft.com. They are the best airsoft retailer I have ever come across.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,656 ✭✭✭deepimpact

I'll look into it, but I need gas to tie me over until I can get the adaptor.
Oh yea, can the orange tips on airsoft pistols be taken off using a solvent like acetone if the paint is oil based?

The tip might just be screwed on. You'd want to wait till you get it.

Sure it may not even come with a tip at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,656 ✭✭✭deepimpact

    It says on the website
"For pistol, rifle & Shotgun, the orange tip is painted with oil-based paint"
Acetone is capable of dissolving oil based compounds so it should be removable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,877 ✭✭✭liamo333

I got my g-spec off them and it did not have a orange tip on it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,401 ✭✭✭Shiva

Same here....3 guns didnt have an orange tip. They probably only put it on for countries requiring it.

    Thanks for all the help.

If you're going for a propane adaptor, I could go splitsies with you on postage etc to save us all hell. If you're interested send me a pm (just learned how to use them :D)

I'm not in the business of screwing anyone over (I've been screwed over a few times myself so I know the feeling...:( )

When do you plan on putting in an order? Problem is, after buying that m9 I'm broke. So I won't be able to buy it for a while. Have to get a few things for this trip up to Predator before hand as well.

Bah! Looks like I'm going to have to stick to green gas for the time being.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 589 ✭✭✭Irish Trinity

could always buy some gas from micheal

never bothered taking the orange tip off mine, it doesnt really bother me, but tbh you could scratch the orange paint off with your finger nails and not do any damage to the coating underneath, mine has a few scratches here and there from being used (and dropped once or twice :P )
but yea, i'd say acetone or even white spirits would do the job, just test it to be sure it wont damage the pistol itself first

I think you have to be the only person I know who isn't bothered by an orange tip

There is no way I could have one on mine. It would drive me insane.

I really want to look into the whole gas situation ie is it worth it. I don't think I'll be using it that much to warrent it. Was just throwing it in the pile :)

well it's only a tiny bit on the front of the outer barrel on my pistol, if it was a big giant orange flash hider on an aeg, then it would bother me, but i dunno, it just doesnt annoy me that much. if all my stuff had orange tips though i'd probably get rid of them, but since it's only one pistol i just dont care
