New LCD Video Projector with TV Tuner - Approx €380
    Free Spare Bulb...1 Year Warranty

What do you think - is this a good deal?
I am looking for a projector that I can use with my home pc for using the net but also playing movies etc but I dont want to spend a fortune. In saying that I still need decent picture quality.

This appears to be a great bargain to me... what do you think?

Any one know much about projectors that would be able to review this projector for me to tell me if it looks good or not?

Interesting.. they also have it on ebay and it says FREE shipping to Ireland... http://cgi.ebay.com/Video-LCD-Movie-TV-DVD-Home-Theater-Computer-Projector_W0QQitemZ290121933053QQcmdZViewItem
Might be better off with ebay as at least with paypal you have some comeback.

Oh its very cheap but only 500:1 contrast which is crap.. you will need a pitch black room, though you need that for most projectors anyway :D

Yeah - I saw it on ebay with free shipping. Any idea how much tax/duty customs would add - is it 21% ?

Whats a decent contrast then if 500:1 isnt?
When you say pitch black - do you literally mean no light whatsoever?

thats cheap alright would be a good starter projector for anyone. The contrast is ok just means you cant leave the lights on or windows open but youll see it fine in a fairly dark room the resolution is not too great so wouldnt be using it with any high def content consoles etc.

As it takes a VGA input it can be claimed that it's primary usage is as a computer display thus meaning it's probably subject to 0% import duty. Assuming this is correct if it were stopped by customs it would be subject to VAT at 21% and a handling charge (around €10).

it can be claimed its a computer display but if the customs boys decide otherwise they will hang on to it until they get paid

i was looking for info on importing a pda, and i found by accident that projectors with tv receiving capabilites are liable to duty
