Lobe stretching

I've had my lobes pierced with 1.6mil rings for a long time and I recently got them stretched to 2.4mil holes. That was 6 weeks ago and I think I want to go a little bigger.

I'm thinking about 4mil but I think that might be too much of a stetch. My skin is quite elasticated and my holes tend to shrink fairly quickly.

Does anyone think going from 2.4 to 4 mil is too much too soon or is it ok ?

6 weeks should be plenty of time to heal a smallish stretch, but 2.4 to 4mm is a pretty big jump and probably not one you should be making. Even a little tear at this stage can make it more awkward to stretch further (I ripped one of my ears at 4mm and even at half an inch it was notably more difficult to stretch than the other)

It will be a lot easier on your ears if you stretch to 8g/3.2mm and take a little break then stretch up to 6g/4mm.

A little rule of thumb I use is: if you can pull the jewelry down a little and see through the hole, you should be ok to start thinking about going to your next size.

yeah just go up one millimetre at a time, safer on your ears itl prevent ear thinning and ripping.

yeah. Listen to these guys. Then when you get to bigger stages like 10/12mm you can jump 2mm. That's what I'm doing and now i have beautiful 18mm holes :)

I went in Metal Morphosis today and got the 4mil ones. He tried the 3.2 but they went in very easily without any stretching, so I decided to opt for a larger size.

I'm sticking with the 4 mil for the moment, no intention of going any bigger.

I rushed and it was fine until some blond b1thc in a night club decided she didn't like the look of me, pulled it out and ripped the top. I went from 2.4 to 4mm to 7mm and had to go back down to 4 and it'll probably be two months before I'm comfortable going back up.
