I’m sure we can all remember are first love or can we really? I know from when I first starting to out to pubs and clubs with friends and work colleagues in your groups that there was many a girl and the odd girlfriend along the way. I use to always say to myself that I was in love with such and such, but that would slowly disappear soon after if we parted ways or finished for numerous reasons. I look back now and ask myself was I ever in love with them at the time. I lost count at many times I use to think I was, but I’m sure everyone growing up thinks the same.

I meet this girl a while back and to be honest I saw her and didn’t give her a second glance at the time, but we started to talk etc and meet each other after work for a drink, we soon started seeing each other. The more time we spent together the more I got to know her and like even though we where complete opposite in what we liked, she like the odd drug and I would never and never have touched them. I look back now and she did stop for a bit, anyways I didn’t treat to her well always breaking promises towards and didn’t really treat her to great. I know if some of friends knew they might be a bit shocked, cause I’m always told how nice and polite I am. I really don’t know why I did and I regret, but I have learned by it. She left and moved away, we still kept in touch the odd time through e-mail, but it wasn’t until a few weeks later I realised how much I actually missed her and getting out of bed in the mornings was so hard and I hated going to work and stayed in on the weekends, I suppose I was a bit depressed, when ever I hear from her I would be in better form for and a happier person. I confided in a good friend (female) unlike me and she soon made realised I was probably in love, after weeks of thinking was I or wasn’t i? I soon started to think that I was probably was. The next time I heard from her I told her how I felt and basically that i was in love with her, hoping that she would come back cause if am honest I knew how much she liked me, but I think to much time had passed for us to get back together. I still think about her most days and kick myself most of the time.

So my main point is have you or are you in love or have you realised like myself after it was gone what you had and what you have lost?

The one thing I learned was to make more of and effort. I can honestly say the “treat them to keep them keen” honestly doesn’t work lads.
    .

    Quoted this time! :D

Gaeltacht, 14, genuinely loved her for about three years afterwards. Was too shy but also presumption to ever say or do anything, hence nothing ever happened, we grew apart, sin é. By the time I asked she'd moved on and so it was.

I should mention, btw, that I'm completely in love with someone else now, and they're completely in love with me back, and in that regard I couldn't be happier. And though I will always have the sense of curiosity in wondering how things may have been, with my life as it is I wouldn't change a single bit.

I was in love once... She was Brazilian, or Chinese, or something weird. I met her in the bathroom of a K-Mart and we made out for hours. Then we parted ways, never to see each other again.
