    DECENTRALISATION OF: DIGITAL TACHOGRAPH, ROAD TRANSORT ENFORCEMENT, VEHICLE TESTING

    Loughrea office open from Monday 11 June 2007


    The Road Safety Authority Digital Tachograph Card Issuing, Road Transport Enforcement and Vehicle Testing functions are relocating to: 1st Floor Clonfert House, Bride Street, Loughrea, Co.Galway

    The Public Offices in Park West, Nangor Road, Dublin 12 are closed with effect from 5th June 2007. Clonfert House is situated at Bride Street on the Dublin Road side of Loughrea and is adjacent to O’Dea’s Hotel. Parking facilities are available at a public car-park at the rear of the Authority’s Offices.

    Public Office: The RSA public office will be situated on the First Floor of Clonfert House.

    DIGITAL TACHOGRAPH APPLICANTS PLEASE NOTE: Application forms for Digital Tachograph cards and information concerning the operation of digital tachographs can be downloaded directly from the Authority’s website at www.rsa.ie. It can take up to 3 weeks to issue a Digital Tachograph card for a valid application, so please allow enough time when submitting your application.

    ALL DRIVERS / OPERATORS OF BUSES AND GOODS VEHICLES PLEASE NOTE: you are required in Ireland and other jurisdictions to account for gaps in driving time records arising as a consequence of sick leave, annual leave or periods when you were driving another vehicle exempted from Regulation No. 561/2006[1]. A Form of Attestation[2] which is recognised in all EU Member States and which must be completed prior to embarking on the journey is available on the Road Safety Authority website: www.rsa.ie.

    All Operators and Drivers who are covered by social legislation relating to road transport activities, tachograph rules, vehicle standards and roadworthiness requirements should regularly check the RSA Website for updates and information.
