Fairly simple question, is there a way to organise the drop-down address bar history in Firefox so it organises by most recently visited? I figure there must be a way as scrolling all the way down can get tedious.

Bookmarks > Organise Bookmarks. Opens new windows. View > Organised by Last Visited.

Turns out that only organises the bookmarks in that window, not on the menu itself...

Look at the History menu, not the search bar.

To get a longer list go to Tools > Options > Privacy Tab
and then adjust the History options to as many days as you want.

As your'e at it, adjust all the other options eg. Private Data as your temp folder and disk will get stuffed with rubbish otherwise.

    Tak.

    P.S. I assume you're on Firefox version 2.0.0.4 .

Wow, didn't think this would be so difficult.

Yes, 2.0.0.4 as I said in the first post.

Tak - I don't want to increase the sites remembered. I just want the drop down list (see attached) to organise by most recently visited. For example; Let's say I cleared history, cache etc... now, I go to www.boards.ie it's in the drop-down on it's own. Then I visit www.google.com. Now google is on top of boards. And this is where it gets exciting!

atm, if I drop down the menu and click boards.ie it stays on the bottom, below google. I want it to move to the top of the list.

Perhaps I missed it, but I don't see how your solution allows for this.

    Looks like you're right.

Only new entries are "promoted" to the top of the History list . . .

    Tak.

Instead of the Address bar, have you tried out the History bar to the side for quick access to the page, if you go-> History >Show in Sidebar, or CTRL+H (keyboard shortcut)

Click on the right-hand side of View you will get options & click on one shown in attachment provided & hopefully it will come in handy to you as it does for me :)

    Good luck.
