Complete waste of money. Was a member for a few years but I was never given a shred of work.

I have, I was in "Stardust" and "A Tiger's Tail".

Extras work is mostly standing around, just to tell you. You spend very little time actually filming.

There's good money in it if you can get enough of it. I know a few people who are basically career extras. The extra work gives them enough to live comfortably on, and they do other bits on the side to add to their income.

You usually get a few hundred euro for a few days work. It's not all that much of a walk in the park though - generally it involves being at some remote location at 5am and then standing around for 10/11 hours to do 30 minutes of filming.

If you think having to pay someone to give you a job is a good idea, go for it.
