    Places to Eat:

Bodeco's in the old town - It's a lovely restaurant owned by an Irish man Deco and his Polish wife Bo. They were very friendly and the food was nice.

La Botega - A nice tapas place and quiet reasonable

A French restaurant - it's beside El Tomato but i can't remember the name of it.

I think these are all in the Old Town.

It's Bistro Montemartre, well worth booking in advance!

OP, have a look in the Things to do in ... forum. Lanzarote has been covered there comprehensively in the past.

Well right in the town you are going to there is Rancho Texas... some wildlife in there, its sort of a zoo type theme park place.. Its pretty good. the birds of prey show is excellent.

Other than that, Up to wine country (la garia) is a good place and a must see for landscapes is the volcanic park(National Park of Timanfaya).

Oh and there is a chain of restaurants that i cant remember the name of there.. avoid them anyway... absolute crap every one of them. Do NOT eat any mexican food there as its crap! Drink plenty of Sangria and have the Prawns in garlic oil (everyone does that one!).
There is a japanese Teppanyaki grill on the strip, its excellent.
