cpu problem

I have a P4 3.2Ghz in my machine, with 1.5gb ram and a 7600gt. It works fine when I'm playing games online, high settings on the games I play. But when I try to play these games offline with bots the games just choke up - and I get the same FPS on ultra low and ultra high settings so obviously it's not the video card. In some older games like UT2K4 I get about 20fps with 20 bots on, again, even on ultra low settings, so it's nothing to do with the video card. Just to confirm - the games run flawlessly online, it's only when there's any real strain put on the processor it chokes up.

I've reinstalled said games and also put fresh paste on my cpu and no difference at all. Any ideas?

The bots require tremendous processing power. 20 bots is a large number. That's the problem.

It's all the AI for the bots. So either up the cpu or cut out the amount of bots.

I ran 20 bots on my old 3.4Ghz P4 without any problems at all....I didn't think a 200mhz against a processor that's already 3200mhz would make any real difference?

Maybe I'm looking at things with rose tinted glasses.....been awhile since I actually had that other P4..:o
