I bought one of the Targa HDD DVD Recorders in Lidl yesterday.
All seemed to be going well, PQ was great when I hooked it up last night.

(I'll cut & paste my own post from the Bargain Forum...)

I have Scarted my Chorus (ewww....) digital into the recorder, which in turn is connected by HDMI to my TV.
I didn't really do a lot of fiddling around with it last night, basically just made sure it was working. It seems that I have to have the recorder switched on to view my Chorus digital channels (choosing "Scart" as the Source).
Surely that can't be right??? My last DVD Recorder (Panasonic) was set up exactly the same way, but I didn't need to have it turned on to watch TV (although it was connected to the TV by Scart, not HDMI, if that matters).

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong??

I also bought one of those recorders in Lidl yesterday. I already had a Sony DVD recorder hooked up to the basic NTL digital. I spent all day yesterday and all this morning trying to hook up the recorder to the digital decoder box. I now have it working - made my first recording of a 2 hour show today. The only thing I cant get to work is the volume control on the NTL remote. I'll check it out later and see if I can help.
