East Wall Passenger Station?

Well since CIE brought up Broadstone...

Was thinking about this today and how in the early 90's a proposal was made for a new major station in Spencer Dock. Was looking at this photo:

Never realised that East Wall yard was so big. Would make a nice terminal station for Point Village and the New Heart of Dublin idea. The Luas at side with connections to city centre and eventually over the East Link Bridge would be far more integrated than current Dockland. Would also allow Kildare and Navan trains to have somewhere sizable to go.

The Interconnector station would be too far away from the new residential city for the east end docklands. This would be on the doorstep if the entrance is at the Alexandria Road end. Perhaps it a dumb idea, but I would hate to see office blocks built on this and crowded Luas trams trying to serve a new urban village of 50,000 when they could of had a major heavy rail terminus which would also add massive capacity to the IE non-electrified network.
