Not too sure about them but might be worth a free trial.

I don't trust anyone who doesn't have legitimate domain name to be honest... i mean if your company is called GameSenders, then get a GameSenders.ie domain for fecks sake!

Still.. they're doing something Chartbusters, Xtra-Vision (etc.) are not - they're renting Wii games. Have practically the entire library of Wii games anyways.

    See site here!

Hi guys. I’m the owner of the GameSenders site so thought it best to give you some answers .I Can assure you there’s nothing dodgy about us, like you we were fed up not being able to rent the games we wanted, so we’re doing something about it.
The site address that you’re referring to is a test and development server.
We’re currently in the “live” testing stage and this is why GameSenders is beginning to show up on the some of the search engines. We hope to launch within the next week or so at which stage we’ll move onto the gamesenders.ie domain. I’ll keep you updated, hope you’ll give us a go

    Thanks Mrgsenders, and good luck.

One question though what makes you think you guys can succeed where others have failed?

Will keep a close eye on this one, it's about time someone decided to do this.

It is about taking a chance. If it works, then fair play them.

    Good luck with it Mrgsenders

Hi guys; thanks for your support.
Chump, I’d like to try and answer your question if I can .If online game rentals can work as a business model all around the world I don’t see why it can’t work in Ireland.
As you know the Ds is the biggest selling console in Ireland and the Wii is more than competing with the PS3 and 360 on sales yet there is no one renting games for either of these. It doesn’t make sense!! What we want to do is fill what we think is a gap in the market and at the end of the day provide the kind of rental service we as avid gamers would like to receive. Yep, as Rabies has said we’re taking a chance but nothing ventured etc etc!!
If its ok I’ll keep ye posted of when we’re up and running and hopefully ye’ll give the free trial a go. Cheers

I hope they can offer us a free trial. It would be great if it works out. As I said in my pervious post, I cant understand why extravision dont rent them out. Have you seen the wii section in their shops:eek:

probably not, doesn't seem to be the market for it for some reason. Despite the Wii outselling PS3 world-wide,our store sold 2 Wii consoles on its launch day even though we could have pre-ordered up to 10,and we sold over 25 PS3s on its launch day. PS3 games are also selling more than Wii games. Might be just my area, but if not,it doesn't make sense for them to rent Wii games. Of course I have a wii and not a PS3 so Id prefer if they changed their stance! :)

I think my main question would be how much stock you have

I tried moviestar.ie for game rentals and I never got anything worth mentioning, they were always out of stock and I only got stuff (usually films) very far down my list, so I ended up cancelling that. This was after they claimed they got "loads of stock" in and that renting games wouldn't be a problem.

(Page doesn't work for me right now but I presume that's something you're aware of as it's a test page)

i sent xtras-vision about the situation and they replied:

    Dear Alan

We do have plans to rent out Wii games however the launch date has not yet been confirmed. When it is it will be heavily advertised in stores and we hope to have it in place by the end of the year.

We want to make sure that members get games they really want to play and we believe, for the most part, these are the most popular new or recent releases. So, for the initial launch period we’re going to concentrate on having sufficient numbers of these games for each console to meet demand. However as you can imagine this is difficult to accurately assess prior to launch so once members join we’ll be monitoring members queues’ carefully to help us do this. What do you think, is this approach the right one?
