Hi,A friend of mine said my strings were too high above the fretboard so he "adjusted them for me". Now my guitar plays like ****,half the strings are buzzing and the other half never stop vibrating. How can i fix this ? Thanks,Gerry.

Read the setup guides in the Instrument Resources sticky, when you understand what's involved, try setting it up yourself. If you're not comfortable with doing it yourself get someone else, not your friend, to do it, perhaps instrument shop staff.

    gerfinch,

    this is a classic issue....

    Everyone obsesses about low action
which makes it easier to play lighting fast leads, shreddin and the like,
but promotes string buzzes and fretting out,
(when you bend and the note dies out)

if you were comfortable with how it was before your buddy
messed around with it, just put it back,

if you dont know how to do this, just tell us what guitar it is

I upped the strings.Still sounds pretty bad but at least its not buzzing.Sounds off when playing the chords, some strings ring out longer than the others so theres a buzz when changing chords. Its a strat knock off with the classic adjuster thing.Ive heard they need to be 4/64ths of an inch off the 12th fret.Im a metric kiddie i have no idea what that means or how to measure it.

    an inch is 25.4mm -

    4/64th is 1.5mm
