I've used them for smaller things. Very good and no real issues. They left me short a lead once. I rand them and they sent me out a much better lead that the one they forgot to include.

I think most people on here are aware of thomann, musicstore and the likes. 247guitar is handy for buying small things as shipping is free after €45, unlike €200 from the online German stores. Also I just bought a power supply off 247guitar, wouldn't be able to get one of them off thomann.

I ordered an "E-bow" for just under a hundred euro, in April this year. A few days later, a guy from the company rang me to say there'd be a delay with the order.. apparantely, the guy who invented the E-bow is the only person in the world who makes them - he operates from a small workshop, assembling & packaging all the E-bows by himself & has being doing so for the last 20 odd years (mad but true!).. as he was on his yearly vacation, it'd be a month top 6 weeks before I got my order. The chap seemed sound - asked me if I wanted a refund so I could source it elsewhere, but as I wasn't in that much of a rush, i said I'd wait.

That was over 5 months ago. Since then, I've messaged him thru their website several times, e-mailed them several times, phoned more than half a dozen times.. straight to voicemails (which I left messages on each time)... and? .. nothing - no return calls or e-mails..

Now, I dunno what the craic is - have the company shut down? (The website's still up & running), is there a problem with my order? (in which case a simple e-mail would be much appreciated?) or have they just taken the money & run?

Either way, I want a refund & apparantley the only way I can do that is thru the small claims court.. If anyone else needs to take similar action, their registered company number and address is....

Dealt with them once, ordered a power supply for my POD, a couple of days later they got back to me saying they couldn't get one, and they offered me an alternative.
They sent me the specs for the alternative but was no good, so I asked for a refund, as they had already charged my credit card for the first power supply
Took about two weeks to get my refund back. Some items are reasonably priced on their website and I probably would buy off them in the future.

starbelgrade, if you bought on the website with a credit card, then you can charge it back. You didn't receive the goods. You don't have to go through the small claims court.

Have to say, I had similar issues when placing my orders. Although the chap was prompt with delivery, he doesn't follow up on customer queries by phone or email. Impression I get is that it is a one man show - and the guy is doing the deliveries himself.

Not a problem for me so far ...

Get your cc card company to charge back. Otherwise, drive out to his house and wait outside!

One man show or not... he could at the very least make 1 courtesy call or send 1 e-mail in 6 months!!!

I tried to cancel the Visa payment, but this has to be done within 60 days of the purchase or they can do nothing about it, so I sent my claim to Small Claims Court this morning... a sorry end to the affair I have to say.

As for waiting outside his house.. I live in Sligo, so I'd spend almost as much on petrol getting there & back as the Ebow is worth! Catch 22!

I dunno, if you can't run a business competently, you shouldn't be in the business at all. I'd love to be able to recommend a decent Irish owned company to people, but this experience will only leave me blackmouthing them.

TBH - I wouldn't have left it so long before charging back - regardless of the 6 weeks wait. I would have taken the refund then and there and replaced the order later on. Lesson to be learned ..

Wife had close call with that company too .

Ya.. hindsight's a great thing! Lesson learned indeed!
