Anyone got any insider info as to (if any) airlines will be putting on a direct flight to Stuttgart from Dublin or Ireland this winter. HLX were doing it last year but doesnt look good for this year. There are some good deals into Germany but the travel time getting to Stuttgart is a waste really. Any advice would be great.

    Thanks

    P.

Ryanair will get you close to Stuttgart they fly into Baden Stuttgart from Dublin it should do the job fo you. Otherwise you will have to fly into Frankfurt or Basel and take the train. I hope this helps.

Not a great option IMHO. They actually call it "Karlsruhe-Baden", but it is Baden-Baden airpark which is about 15 Km from Baden-Baden. I travel regurarly to Baden-Baden and find it easier to go Aer Lingus to Frankfurt and get the train from Frankfurt airport direct to Baden-Baden. So you may find it similar for Stuttgart. Check out the DB train site.

Agree with H2G2. It's a bit of an effort to get to Stuttgard from Baden Baden. I use it because I have a mate in Karlsruhe, but getting to Stuttgart is much easier by train from Frankfurt (NOT Hahn!).

I flew with HLX and they were excellent, very compy seats and good service, at the time it was cheaper than any other carrier

HLX stopped doing Stuttgart back in January I think.

    You've four options:

    - As above fly Ryanair to Baden and take a 3.5 hour €30 train to Stuttgart.

    - Fly Ryanair to Friedrichschafen and take a 4 hour €30 train to Stuttgart.

    - Fly Aer Lingus to Frankfurt and take a 3.5 hour €55 train to Stuttgart.

    - Fly Ryanair to Berlin, and then German Wings to Stuttgart 1 hour for €30.

Those prices are all rough but I've tried all of those routes! I recommend Baden airpark - it's the best time of day to get in at usually.

    Hope that helps!
