I found a Flickr Greasemonkey Script which may be useful for some of you (you obviously need firefox and greasemonkey installed).

    From the discussion thread :-
"This script lets you organise your flickr contacts into groups by tagging them."
    Tags are stored locally.

"Once you've tagged some contacts, if you go to the contacts page you can view the contacts listed by tag,
there is also a select box called "Current Filter" You can change the filter to view photos from those tagged users."

Those scripts are awfully handy... but I tried using firefox instead of ie7 a while ago and flickr was abysmally slow. I have no idea why nobody else seems to think so though...

    I have no problem...
    also found - http://userscripts.org/scripts/search?q=flickr
which may solve other flickr quirks....

I gave you mozilla people the benefit of the doubt :) and just loaded them up side by side. The IE page loads pictures instantly, and the firefox one comes up line by line. Even if you have to wait a split second longer for it to start loading in ie I think it's less annoying than having the thing load up in sections.

No greasemonkey scripts for me, then...

Julie, would it be anything to do with the cache? I find Firefox great. I didn't find IE very fast when I tried it yesterday. But I have nothing in my IE cache.

Discovered this script recently too, but I got it through Lifehacker's Better Flickr Firefox extension.

It's a Firefox extension with a few good Flickr Greasemonkey scripts, and you can turn on/off the ones you want/don't

Very handy Familyguy, easy to use and fairly un-intrusive.

Elven, try the fasterfox extension for firefox. It speeds up page rendering etc, as well as other options to tweak how FF uses your bandwidth.
