Is your PS3 a dust-collector?

Mine is shoulder high (bottom of PS3) on it's side, on a wood shelf.

It's as clean as the day it was taken out of the box and I've never had to dust it in any way, other then to run my finger along the edge to see what all the fuss was...

    It has no dust.

Physically mine's clean as a whistle. Gaming-wise it sure is a dust collector. :)

I took one out of the box a week ago. Its filthy already. I dunno whether its what its made out of, or that its got more static inside or what the cause is, but a defininite yes.

Interesting I wonder if it's carpet or wood-floor related also?

I have wood-floor. One room upstairs is also wood but around the TV/DVD player there is stacks of clothing and subsequently the TV/DVD get's very dusty. The PS3 has nothing material nearby..hmmm...

No more than anything else around it, but I think any dust stands out more on the PS3's surface compared to most others. I have a 360 right beside it, and both collect the same amount of dust, it's just more noticeable on the PS3 because of its shiny finish I think.

I should say, though, we're not talking about a lot of dust. Just a tiny bit that might gather between cleaning (every week or so). I've a wood floor too, and if it makes any difference in terms of dust resting on it, I keep my PS3 vertical.

take the dust away and have it analyzed!! forensics will tell you who owns it!!! if it's gathering so much dust you've got too wonder where this dust would accumulate where it not for your PS3, death by dust-injestion!

Maybe they're hungry for (original) games and eating dust as a substitute :D

Mine actually isn't gathering any as I have I don't have it lying on its belly. I find that if you leave it on its belly it gathers a serious amount of dust.
