Anyone see this on Channel 4?

I missed the end of it.

The 3 guys on it were certainly characters. It looked like a nightmare for the risks of getting ripped off...

There was an old guy I felt a bit sorry for. It looked like he'd been ripped off and he was definitely out of his depth.

Then an arrogant guy from Rochdale that deserved to be ripped off but seemed to have plenty of money and to be doing well.

I'm not sure about the third guy - he didn't seem to be having much luck and seemed a bit out of his depth too.

Yeah, I caught some of the programme as well.

I'd say the old lad is going to get fleeced by his new "business partner" - that lad looked REALLY dodgy. Also with the copyright laws (or lack of them) in China, it will mean that the old english man's invention [ it was an appliance that, when connected to the Air Conditioning unit, would decrease power consumption by 30%] would be ripped off by anyone who wanted to copy the design.

Whatever you say about that tosser from Rochdale, he was certainly not going to be made a fool of. He may not be the most likeable guy in the world, but he was certainly getting the job done.

The third guy (with a cushion making business) will get fleeced like the old man. He was promising to fill orders, while his manufacturing facility wasn't even finished. He is only asking for trouble :D

Anyone know if this was a "once-off" programme, or is it a series? It seemed like a series to me..

Thought it was really interesting to see how business is done with regards to importing.

I think it was a once off as they tied up the stories at the end.

    Cocky Guy:
They left him about to travel to Inner Mongolia in his "Olympic" bus to do more business. They weren't too specific but they said something along the lines of "His way of doing business continues to be a struggle but he seems to be winning".
His factory, equipped with UK machinery, opened and was producing cabinets. He also opened a showroom to sell UK style kitchens, that were produced in China, back to the wealthy Chinese.

    Old Guy:
He lost contact with Jimmy P (sp?) for a few days and was really worried but not showing it. He then got a phone call from Jimmy saying he had landed a big deal (He had as the cameras went with him). The deal would make them millions over two years.
Old Guy hired a factory and started production and began to enjoy his wealth.
The voiceover then said: "His biggest struggle was yet to come.....Getting paid".
    That's where they left him.

    Cushion Guy.
His factory got finished and had a grand opening. They were considering renaming the town "Cushion Town".
He held a cushion industry party in New York and showed him closing a US$3 million deal. Things seemed to be going ok.

Think that's how it all ended anyway.

Really appreciate that little roundup cosgrove80 - thanks.

Oh yeah, no doubt the kitchen guy got the job done and his business is doing well. He was very shrewd. Full credit to him for that.

It's just that he made me cringe in how he did things. I thought he seemed a bit camp as well.

Kojak, thanks for your kind words not too bothered about being called a tosser. I will let you off as for being a bit camp. You are bang on there Jrey1981.

    Thanks
