I have to say, this looks like it could be excellent, and the advance word seems to be pointing towards it being very good.

It's been a long time since I watched anything with Kevin Costner, and I think since The Postman, his career has taken a serious hit. It's odd to try and picture him as a serial killer, but maybe being out of the spotlight so long will work in his favour here.

Can't say i'm too intrigued by it - looks like a less compelling version of the amazing, fantastic, phenomenally brillant 'Dexter'.

Demi Moore, Kevin Costner.. anyone else in the film devoid of a film career in the last 10 years? Oh... what a ya know, there's William Hurt! :D

I'm expecting Pauly Shore to pop up in cast list now!

I'll reserve judgement til i see it though!

Apart from the serial killer theme, I can't see any big similarities with Dexter, never mind this being a 'version' of it. What exactly are you refering to here?

I saw that trailer about 2 months ago and thought that the film looked very promising.
    Something to look forward to.

One of the few films I'm genuinely excited about this summer. I've always liked Costner and Mr. Brooks looks like a return to form for him.

I don't mean it's like a remake or film version of Dexter... it just inevitably reminded me of it with the normal guy with a dark side with a need for killing storyline.

However, Dexter's reasons for this will, i have no doubt, differ from Mr Brooks.

Anyways.. best not say anymore as i'll end comparing the two and spoiling crucial plot points of Dexter.

Finally got to see this tonight.
    Excellent film .
Costner and Hurt were cast perfectly in their roles.
Clever dark script, good acting, great score and a few twists.
One of the best films I've seen this year.
Why cant they make more movies like this instead of the dross being churned out ?

Good to hear, MisterAnarchy. Pity it isn't out here untill October, according to imdb.com

As for making more movies like it, Hollywood isn't interesting in making anything original, sadly.

I don't trust any film with that gimp Dane Cook.

Looking forward to this, Costner is a very under-used actor. I saw the Guardian the other day, and while the film wasn't up to much, Costner as usual was excellent.

I've heard lots of good things about this already (it's been out in America for a while), and I like Costner a lot, even if he's been in some stinkers. I'm looking forward to it.
Any idea when it's coming out?

Have to agree with MisterAnarchy, very good film (8.5/10), quite gripping and watchable. Review to follow on review board possibly.
