Removing MSN from laptop

    Hi,

    I can't seem to remove an old msn messenger account from my laptop - I've tried removing the programme, disabling it, unclicking the option that says 'auto sign in' but everytime I turn back on the computer it signs in automatically.

    It's not a huge big deal, more annoying than anything else cos I dont use the account anymore.

    What do I need to do to get rid?

    Thanks.

    Start->Run->Msconfig

    Got to the startup tab and look for msmsgr or something like that. Un-tick it and reboot.

    untick the coption for auto sign in and then sign in.

    next time you log in it won't sign in.

    or go to tools>options in messenger and uncheck the box that says sign into windows messenger when an internet connection is available and uncheck start windows messenger when i log into windows

    If you want to remove MSN altogether (Even better!) goto Control Panel - Add Remove Programs - Add / Remove Windows Components - and untick the MSN messanger box and click ok.
