Anyone know how to go about getting the technician training done as their are no test centres for this in Ireland and only one in the UK?

i presume you mean the Apple Desktop/Portable Service Certification, yeah you have to go to the uk it cant be done online unfortunatley , the driver theory test centres are prometric test centres but they dont do it

no, tried to do it myself dont have enough cash at the mo for the uk trip so im repairing out of warranty machines unnoficial at the mo
