Hello, just installed Vista, Media center is great, mostly, but when I finishing watching one Divx/xvid file and go to watch another, all i get is the audio, untill i restart MC................Any ideas? Cant find any info on the net.

Second problem is with my TV card, TerraTec Cinergy 2400i, I can use it with their supplied software and MC lets me get right up to where i come to watch it, and then all i get again is sound, im pretty sure its not a codec issue on either problem as i have the large K-lite pack installed.

    Any help would be great.....Thanks.

K-lite pack is a probable source of the problem, it's a bad codec pack that installs too many codecs that conflict with each other.

Uninstall the K-lite pack then reboot the system after it's done.

Now download the CCCP (good codec pack) and use that for playback instead & see if any of the problems are fixed.

Also update your display drivers as well if they aren't current.

Cheers 8T8, I have got rid of the K-lite pack, i always assumed it was the best one around.........clearly not. Anyway i installed the CCCP and i still have the same problems. I cant find Display Drivers for my LCD, its a Sony bravia 1080p HDTV model KDL-40X2000U...........I am begining to think they are not around!

My Grapjich card is a 256Mb 8600 and im using a Asus P5w DH Delux with vista..........

you need display drivers for your gfx card, not your monitor. go to the vendors website & search for vista drivers.

Download these drivers for the 8600 158.24 Vista 32-bit

Well downloaded the beta drivers and it solved the problem of not playing the second video! great stuff. My other problems still remain. This graphics cars was classed as Vista Ready.........i dont call that vista ready.

Im thinking about moving to XP MCE. There are just so many little problems with Vista. What do you think?

What other outstanding issues are there ? do you mean the other resolution problem in this thread well that could be graphics card driver related as well.

That problem went as a result of uninstalling Pure Video, which still refuses to work. The fonts still look rubbish though but it now shows the native res as 1920x1080.

As for the other problems, the TV card still wont work under MediaCenter, no picture or sound, it keeps saying that no card was found, when it sees the card on setup (in MC). I have tried the PCI express x1 slot and the spare x16 slot and get the same problems. The card works under its own software.

In regards the tuner have you tried TerraTec's own Vista driver.

Purevideo not working is down to NVIDIA as I said in the other thread NVIDIA have not bothered to update it and make it work under Vista you can try the tool I linked to but there is no guarantee it will work properly.

Some people have gotten lucky with using that codec selection tool and DECCHECK under Vista to make it work just set NVIDIA as the decoder in both.

Not sure about the fonts problem do you have a picture of it or is it the screen itself that is messing with the fonts, normally running in native 1:1 resolution fixes that though.
