    Hi,
I am NOT technically minded, just need a new PC as the old one has given in.

Need it for surfing the net, playing games, downloading music and films ( no point in denying what type ;) )

Basically, PC World have three I'm looking at. Will give you the details as per their broichure, if you can recommend one I'd appreciate it.

Compaq - € 1,199 - Desktop PC with 19" Flat panel monitor. Intel Core 2 Duo processor E6420. Genuine Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium. 320GB Hard Drive, 2048MB Ram. Dual layer DVD ReWriter Drive.512MB ATI Radeon 1650SE DVI Graphics. Model 5079.

Packard Bell - € 899 - Intel Core 2 Duo processor E6320. 1024MB RAM. 250GB Hard Drive. Dual layer DVD ReWriter Drive. 256MB ATI Radeon 1650 SE DVI Graphics. Genuine Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium. Model 2589

Packard Bell - € 799 - Intel Core 2 Duo processor E4300. 1024MB RAM. 250 GB Hard Drive. Dual layer DVD ReWriter drive. nVidia GeForce 7500LE Graphics. Genuine Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium. Model 2489.

    any info is much appreciated.

What games are you looking to run and how well?
Komplett are pretty good for pc's you might want put up a budget and ask around here for which would be the best parts to have put in it though.

that's a quick response !! Games are really only an hobby, not a major gamer by any means. Budget is from 500 to 1500 i suppose, on the never never HP!

For €1500 you would get a great computer off Komplett. But if you only use your computer for the internet and the odd game. It might be a waste. If you are running Vista your best bet would be to get 2GB of ram as it's meant to run fairly slow with only 1GB. Don't know for myself but just what I've read.
