Yeah, I was adding repositories in the oul' Synaptic then reloading the thing when it froze. I gave it a few minute then shut it down. Now when I start up Ubuntu it runs really laggy and occasionally shuts down programs. I've opened Synaptic a few times now and it only freezes on startup. Any ideas???

Did you add all source properly?

    sudo gedit /etc/apt/souces.list

and comment out any crap you added.

Shouldn't slow down the entire system though.

Funny, I opened that and there's nothing in it, it's usually full of stuff....
