I was not sure where to post this but here goes: move is ye see fit.
I just cleaned out my medicine press and there are loads of out of date tablets etc. I am pretty sure I cant just chuck them into the bin.. on the other hand I did ask at my local chemist and they looked at me like I had two heads.

My college health service had a poster up about this but I can't recall any specifics. Maybe have a look around at the health service websites etc.

I always return to any chemist. Never been questioned, just say returning unused medication and leave it on the counter.

Any Pharmacy will take back old medicine. If they looked at you like you had two heads then ask to speak to the Pharmacist him/herself. I saw someone get a similar reaction to you in a Pharmacy in Raheny from a female shop assistant who was probably used to selling cosmetics and the Pharmacist was called for.

If you live in North Dublin, the recycling place near the estuary has a section for meds.
