You know, I haven't seen the old 80's film in a long, long time, and I'm rather tempted to give it a watch.

As for the prospects of a new film? Ah, it could be a laugh.

The original movie wasn't that bad at all.

It had Tom Paris in it... that's got to count for something.

And that wonderful post credits sequence that promised a sequel that never materialised...

I got the original film on DVD a few months back and have to admit that I still enjoy it.

The new one has been on the cards for a few years now, John Woo was attached to direct, then to produce but left the project last year. If they do it properly, keep the tone similiar to the cartoon and set it on Eternia this time.

A sequel to the Dolph Lundgren film was acutually in production alongside a Spideman film, but Cannon had to cancel both films after it ran into financial difficulties. Albert Pyun wrote the Van Damme film Cyborg and they used the sets whihc were left over. In America most TV stations show Cyborg as Masters of the Universe 2: Cyborg

The He-Man movie is my biggest guilty pleasure. I think its brilliant! This could be due to the fact that I loved it as a child. Great theme tune.

Only surpassed for pure 80's nostalgia by The Monster Squad.

Hmm, that article suggests it's going to be a poor-mans "300". That doesn't fill me with too much hope considering 300 is mediocre to begin with.

The 80's show held fond memories for me too. That is until I watched a few eps recently on youtube. It's really awful stuff. Not MASK awful but pretty close.

Probably best to just let this one die. Attempts to regenerate this franchise in 1990 and 2002 were pretty unsuccessful. Can't see this movie performing any differently.

Hey bite your tongue! Mask is top notch! Come on, who doesnt want a car that turns into a boat, or better still, a car where you can just open the doors and it flies!!

Never said the toys were awful, just the cartoon. Watch an ep. It's borderline racist.
