PSP umd and chocolate biscuits

My erm silly to put it lightly, boyfriend managed to get biscuit crumbs in one of his PSP UMD's, is it possible to open the plastic casing on them to clean it properly, i've been using a small paintbrush to get rid of the crumbs+chocolate but i can't reach some places. I don't want to force it though, I am dying to play…
