I finally got around to processing some shots I took at the giant's causeway. Any C&C is appreciated, thanks.

The last one is the best photograph of Giants Causeway I have ever seen. And I have seen not only mine ones!

Brilliant work, the first one nearly looks like a painting in parts (or something to that effect). Nicely done!

Very nice! Great colours and excellent composition.
The halo around the peak to the left in no.2, Fionn's View, is kinda distracting tho.
I love the water in no.3. In the left of the foreground it looks like lightning or electricity or something, especially with that eerie blue green light.
The horizon sticks out a little bit tho.

My only other complaint is not being able to take a picture anywhere as good as those!

to be honest, no. 2 leaves me cold. looks overprocessed, and looks muddy.

    wow

seeing those pics actually makes me want to take up photography myself, and seeing as I'm one of the laziest bastards on the face of the earth.. that's pretty high praise.

    Magical.
Last one looks like a backdrop to a movie poster or book.
    First two are breathtaking.

Thanks for all the comments! The first two are by far the most processed shots I have ever done so it's great to get some feedback on them.

5uspect: I did some work around the peak you mentioned to try to disguise the halo. Thanks for pointing out that it's distracting - I've looked at it so long that it was hard to see it from a fresh point of view. I agree with you about the lightning/electric water - I thought the same myself!

DarrenG: It's definately worth the trip, I've been meaning to get up there for years and I've no doubt I'm going to go back up sometime. It was very busy during the day but it was nice and quiet in the evening.

As for the lighting on the first one, it's a bit odd because the bottom part of the rocks are shaded from the setting sun by hills on the left.

Very nice indeed. Long shutter speed on last one is very effective. Well done.

Three Fantastic pics, the first is like a painting, beautiful.
A crop taken from the top and i think it's ready to hang on any wall.

Number two, Does look a little cold, like magicbastarder says but it only adds to the mood.

    Number three, Just Magic.

Thanks guys. :) I've updated the second shot with some more work done to the hill on the left to get rid of the halo effect and I think it's better as a result. Thanks for the advice.

Can you give some info on the photos - iso, shutter, aperture, focal. Plus post processing?

    thanks, Bam

The first two shots are HDR images, combined from three exposures (-2EV, 0EV and +2EV). The 0EV for both was 1/2 sec at f22, ISO100.
The last shot is 1.6 sec at f18, ISO 100.

In post, I used photomatix to create the HDR images, then brought them into PS and cleaned them up. Because there was some movement in the water between exposures, photomatix left some weird artifacts so these were cloned out. Then used a variety of adjustment layers to get the look I was after.

For the last shot, just a few adjustment layers in PS to brighten the foreground a little and a few other tweaks.
