If Bev the darling of Mayo as a "gene-pool" FF is asked to support her former team mates how can she make it work for the west. I hope she asks for the fast tracking of:

Completion of the upgrading of the N5 (the whole way to Westport) including the Longford bypass
Completion of the N26 Ballina Bohola section to bypasse Foxford
    An Eastern by-pass around Ballina
Priority give to completion of Western Road Corridor

and I hope she has the sense not to insist on the Western Rail Corridor ahead of these more important road projects.

If she gets the projects above on the go she will be leveraging her position very well (now there's a thought)

    I'd say she's looking for 3 million euro. :)

Yep - you are probably right her own financial problems are going to be the stumbling block. Pity ... for us in the west.

Why did people vote for her then?

You are not suggesteing for one minute that people actually think and rationalise their voting behaviour are you? The fact she is near bankruptcy has nothing to do with parish pump mentality which elects the likes of Beverly "at the end of the day" Flyn (by the way next time you hear her interviewed county how many times she says "At the end of the day I have to do what's best for the people of Mayo (she actually means Castlebar - but there you go).
