Laptop insurance for travelling

Does anyone know where to get a short-term holiday insurance which will also cover specific items such as laptops?

I can take a holiday insurance policy for EUR 15, but I can't insure a single item above EUR 750.

Does anyone know of short term (1 week) laptop insurance policies in the event of theft or damage?

You can usually put a laptop on the house insurance, but I don't know how that would work for travelling. Might be worth giving them a ring.

I haven't got house insurance. I can't get any for removable items because I'm renting.

Do you absolutely have to take it? I wasn't able to get insurance on mine and the hotel limits on safety deposits don't go to laptop values...I ended up lugging it around Las Vegas in my handbag for a week and wished after that I'd left it at home.
