Have a friend selling a 73 (not 100% sure think it could be 76) triumph spitfire
Its red with the convertable black hood.
Im interested but have no clue what the value of it is
Just wondering if anyone had any idea what these are worth?
    Thanks

Check eBay UK to see what they're going foer there. Add the cost of a flight and a ferry. That's the cheapest you're going to get one.

For the Irish price, you can add a good amount to that figure.

It depends very much on condition - if the chassis is solid, the sills and floorpan are good and the engine is in good nick then it'll sell easy enough. Problem is that sometimes people here have an idea that their classic car is worth a fortune. You can't go too far wrong with the guide price in the back of Practical Classics which shows a condition 1 at STG £3100, condition 2 at £1750 and condition 3 at £700. You'll always find someone who'll have got one cheaper and sold it for a fortune but in my experience its all talk. Condition 1 needs no real work - near enough VGC, condition 2 needs some work but isn't too bad and condition 3 needs a welder and a positive mental attitude. Convert the STG values to Euro, add 400 euro approx for getting a car across the water and deduct it again as the haggle amount.....
