credit card on american account

    i have a american account

    i was going to buy wipeout today and then it asks for bill payers address

    the address i currently have on my ps3 account is a friend of a friends (in america) account

    and the friend doesnt know

    will he get conformation of this transaction etc

    will he get anything

    I don't think so...I think they send any confirmations etc. just to your email address, not through the post. He may receive promo materials from Sony on occasion, though, I'm not sure.

    Lots of people seem to use random dummy addresses with a Beverly Hills, 90210 address ;) You could try changing the address before buying if you want to be super-certain, but I wouldn't worry too much about it.

    Am I right in guessing that you used a VISA card? I tried using my VISA and got the same, i.e. looked for a billing address.

    AFAIK if you use a Mastercard and the purchase is under $50 it doesn't check the billing address.

    Also seems like people are using the Wirecard service which is a virtual credit card.

    Even if you don't have visa it is still possible to purchase us games from us store via virtua card or something. I can't post exact link to were I heard this but it was from the forums at playstation.ie.
